Job summary

Walgreens in Charleston, WV is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to learn how to provide an excellent patient experience while assisting the pharmacist and team in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Under supervision, you will use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, participate in patient counseling and health services, and support inventory and daily operations to ensure accurate, friendly service.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a School of Pharmacy program.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with products and services to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices to deliver a distinctive Walgreens experience.
• Build strong relationships with customers.
• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, following policies.
• Enter, process, and dispense prescriptions per SOPs.
• Support patient care services within state scope, including counseling.
• Report prescription errors promptly and follow QA procedures.
• Handle cash register transactions and help locate products.
• Assist with inventory management and stock control.
• Keep pharmacy area clean and stocked; maintain appearance.
• Complete special assignments as directed.
• Complete required training.
• Maintain knowledge of healthcare and pharmacy developments.
