Job summary

Walgreens in United States, Whiteville, NC seeks a Pharmacist to provide patient counseling, medication management, and immunization services. You will ensure accurate dispensing, review pharmacotherapy, and maintain regulatory compliance while delivering excellent customer care.

You will collaborate with healthcare teams, support inventory and operations, and participate in community health initiatives as Walgreens expands Well Experience locations.

Qualifications

• Must have Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree.
• Must obtain pharmacist licensure in the states within the district within 90 days of hire.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and safety.
• Performs compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and adherence to company policies and standards; assists in establishing efficient workflow.
• Handles opening/closing of the pharmacy and shift change duties; supports procedures for asset protection and inventory management.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy technology and systems (Intercom Plus, StoreNET) and suggests enhancements.
• Ensures accurate processing of insurance claims and follows up with providers and insurers.
• Provides immunization, wellness services, and diabetes awareness education to customers.
• Supports management in analyzing performance data and engages with local medical community for growth.
• Participates in community outreach and collaborates with Central Pharmacy Operations for 3rd party reviews.
• Assists with staff hiring/training and reinforces performance expectations.
• Keeps up with developments in retail and pharmacy management to improve performance.
