Job summary

Walgreens in United States—Indiana (Muncie) seeks a pharmacist to provide pharma consulting and ensure proper dispensing under regulations and policies. You will support workflow, assist the manager, and focus on delivering excellent customer experiences.

You will perform compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management while staying current with pharmacy IT systems and insurance processes. Immunizations and preventive services are part of duties.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain PharmD prior to start date.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure within 90 days.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolves customer issues in a timely manner and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive customer experience.
• Counsels patients and answers questions regarding medicine usage, side effects, interactions, and privacy.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Ensures operations comply with regulations and company policies; assists in establishing efficient workflow and shift duties.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy IT systems (Intercom Plus, StoreNET) and proposes system enhancements.
• Ensures accurate processing of insurance claims and follows up with providers and payers.
• Performs immunizations, flu shots, diabetes awareness and other preventive services.
• Assists in analyzing performance data and managing inventory and assets.
• Develops relationships with local medical community and participates in outreach for growth.
