Job summary

CVS Health’s 3rd year Pharmacy Intern program in Alabama supports pharmacy teams to deliver exceptional patient care while developing clinical and technical skills. Interns work under licensed supervision to assist with immunizations, prescription processing, and patient counseling in a CVS Pharmacy setting.

The role emphasizes adherence to SOPs, safety, and continuous learning, with opportunities to participate in immunizations and other health services as allowed by state regulations.

Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.

Responsibilities

• Live CVS values by following all SOPs at each workstation to assist Pharmacists and Technicians in patient health.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Counsel patients and field medical questions under supervision to provide optimal care.
• Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify prescriptions where allowed by state law.
• Assist in inventory activities and cycle counts as directed by leadership.
