Job summary

Walgreens in Washington state is seeking a licensed pharmacist to provide medication consulting, ensure accurate dispensing, conduct drug therapy reviews, and perform immunizations and preventive health services.

You will counsel patients, support pharmacy operations and inventory, and collaborate with management to enhance customer experience and store performance. Candidates must pursue PharmD and state licensure within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited educational institution prior to the start date in position.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 90 days of hire per district guidelines.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients and answers questions regarding usage of medicine, side effects, interactions, contraindications, patient information privacy, generics, less expensive medicines, over-the-counter products.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Ensures the pharmacy operates in accordance to regulations, company policies and standards.
• Maintains current knowledge of information technology associated with pharmacy systems and proposes enhancements to promote productivity.
• Ensures accurate processing of insurance claims and follows up with providers and insurers.
• Performs retail, clinical, and wellness services such as immunizations and diabetes awareness.
