Job summary

You will engage customers, support workflow optimization, process insurance claims, oversee pharmacy IT systems, and contribute to community health through immunizations and wellness services.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain Pharm D before starting the position.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure within 90 days of hire per district guidelines.
• Certified Immunizer or willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide pharmacy consulting on medication usage, interactions, and preventive care such as immunizations.
• Ensure proper compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications within guidelines and policies.
• Engage customers by greeting and assisting with products and services; resolve issues.
• Model customer service best practices to deliver a distinctive experience.
• Develop relationships with customers by anticipating needs and promoting healthcare services.
• Counsel patients on medicine usage, side effects, and refer to providers as needed.
• Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and management.
• Ensure operations comply with regulations; assist manager with workflow and shift duties.
• Apply Good Faith Dispensing policy per laws when filling prescriptions.
• Maintain knowledge of pharmacy IT systems and propose productivity enhancements.
• Process insurance claims accurately and participate in third-party audits.
• Follow up with medical providers to clarify prescriptions and suggest alternatives.
• Provide immunizations, flu shots, and wellness services.
• Support manager with performance analysis, financials, and asset protection.
• Build relationships with local providers and participate in community outreach.
