Job summary

Interns gain experience in drug information assessment, patient and professional communication, and quality improvement initiatives within a Level 1 Trauma Center setting and academic environment.

Qualifications

• Must be fully-matriculated and accepted in the College of Pharmacy.
• Current Utah State Pharmacy Intern Licensure or Current Temporary Pharmacist License.
• Second or third year intern preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs the essential functions of Pharmacy Technician I.
• Trains to solve problems in the medication use process for patients and the organization.
• Identifies and engages in quality improvement activities to improve patient care and pharmacy operations.
• Trains to assume responsibility for the medication use process in line with policy and law.
• Learns to assess drug information and provide information to patients, other health care professionals and peers.
