Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a 3rd year Pharmacy Intern to join our retail pharmacy team. You will apply pharmacy school concepts to real-world operations, under a preceptor, and follow a structured training roadmap across store, district, and regional levels.

The role emphasizes safe prescription fulfillment, empathetic patient care, and collaboration with Pharmacists and Technicians while gaining exposure to immunizations and additional patient services where allowed by law.

Qualifications

• ACPE accredited college enrollment or active status required.
• Intern/technician licensure in progress or valid per state.
• Commitment to regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
• Strong communication and customer-service mindset.
• Ability to lift and stand for extended periods as needed in a pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacy team to ensure safe, accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Follow SOPs and training roadmap to gain hands-on experience.
• Provide empathetic, caring patient service at pickup, drive‑thru, and phone interactions.
• Counsel patients and collect necessary medical history when appropriate under supervision.
• Assist with immunizations and other services where permitted by state rules.
• Engage with team to share best practices and coach peers as needed.
• Support inventory tasks and cycle counts per leadership guidance.
