OU Health Pharmacy is seeking a PRN Pharmacy Intern to assist in both inpatient and outpatient operations. You will review orders, assist with sterile preparations, input and dispense prescriptions, and support pharmacists in daily duties with emphasis on accuracy and patient safety.

This internship offers on‑the‑job training, exposure to clinical interventions, and the chance to work closely with pharmacists, nurses and physicians in OU Health’s comprehensive care system in Oklahoma City.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy or NABPLEX process.
• On-the-job training provided; no prior experience required.

Responsabilités

• Review and assess medication/IV orders for interactions and compatibility.
• Assess order appropriateness based on age and clinical context.
• Provide clinical interventions through communication with physicians, nurses and patients.
• Prepare intravenous admixtures under laminar flow hood with aseptic technique.
• Receive, input, fill and deliver patient prescriptions.
• Assist pharmacist on duty and answer clinical questions.
• Store and preserve biological products with proper refrigeration.
