Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a pharmacy intern to support the pharmacist and pharmacy team in delivering exceptional patient care. You will use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and help process prescriptions.

You will contribute to a positive customer experience, engage with customers, and learn about policy, procedures, and best practices in a fast-paced retail pharmacy setting.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a School of Pharmacy program.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Models and shares customer service best practices to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Develops strong relationships with customers.
• Assist pharmacist and team, under supervision, in the practice of pharmacy and in accordance with policy.
• Review and comply with pharmacy code of conduct and SOPs for entering, third party processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
• Assist with patient counseling and health services within state scope of practice.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
• Maintain inventory, assist with stocking, and ensure the Pharmacy Department is clean and orderly.
• Complete required training and stay informed on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
