Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an Intern Pharmacist to assist licensed pharmacists in dispensing, compounding, procuring, storing and distributing pharmacy products in hospital or ambulatory settings.

You will consult with patients and medical staff about medication therapy, provide medication information, document in patient records, and support quality management and ongoing education within the pharmacy.

Qualifications

• California Intern Pharmacist license is required.
• Knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws and standards.
• Ability to extract information from patients and coordinate with care plans.

Responsibilities

• Dispenses, compounds, procures, stores and distributes pharmacy products per laws and policies.
• Interviews patients to obtain medication info and advises on use and storage.
• Consults with medical staff regarding drug therapy and dosing.
• Maintains a clean, safe workspace and documents activities in the pharmacy system.
• Participates in quality management programs and education initiatives.
