Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician intern to support pharmacists in formulation, preparation, dispensing and delivery of medications in a patient-care setting.

The role requires enrollment in at least the third year of a PharmD program, an active Rhode Island pharmacy intern license, and basic computer skills. Training will cover EDDS operations, inventory management and safe handling of controlled substances.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in at least the third year of a pharmacy program in good standing.
• Maintains current unrestricted Rhode Island pharmacy intern license.
• 1–3 months of on-the-job training to learn duties and procedures.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in formulation, preparation, dispensing and delivery of medications.
• Review medication orders and prepare meds for pharmacist review.
• Operate EDDS systems (Omnicell, Pyxis) for inventory control and distribution.
