Job summary

Fairview Health Services’ Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to provide direct clinical care to patients and support the pharmacy team. The role follows a year-by-year progression from operational duties to clinical responsibilities within a hospital setting.

Casual hours bi-weekly with day/evening shifts and one weekend per month. You will help ensure medication safety, assist with dispensing, and participate in multidisciplinary care discussions while

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a student at an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Experience or coursework in patient counseling and medication safety is preferred.
• Active registration as a Pharmacy Intern with the MN State Board of Pharmacy is required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient counseling and prospective drug use evaluation.
• Assist in dispensing medications accurately and in compliance with regulations.
• Monitor patient records for allergies and drug interactions.
• Support medication safety and error management activities.
• Participate in team meetings and interdisciplinary discussions.
• Maintain proficiency in pharmacy practice through ongoing education.
