BMCHS is seeking a Pharmacy Fulfillment Technician in the Mail Order Pharmacy to support preparation and distribution of medications and maintain records. The role operates under pharmacists and the Technician Supervisor to ensure high-quality patient care.

The position is full-time with evening shifts, Monday through Friday 12:30 PM–9:00 PM, in the Boston area. Responsibilities include packaging, shipping medications, and monitoring automated systems, with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Fulfillment Technician is responsible for providing pharmacy services which include, but are not limited to, preparing and distributing pharmaceuticals, maintaining pharmacy records, packaging and shipping medications and operating/monitoring pharmacy automated technology systems. The Pharmacy Fulfillment Technician works under the direct supervision of the Pharmacists and/or the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor to ensure delivery of high quality patient focused pharmacy service.

Essential Responsibilities / Duties

• Maintains and performs medication fulfillment related competencies for central fill, traditional, and specialty prescriptions.
• Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and/or the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor, supports the department in the ethical practice of pharmacy on a daily basis by providing effective, appropriate, and safe pharmacy services.
• Communicates to pharmacists and/or pharmacy technician supervisor on malfunctioning equipment and unsafe working conditions.
• Maintains own professional and specialized competency, including the following:

Job Requirements

Education

• Requires a high school diploma (or State accepted equivalency).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Required

• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the MA Board of Pharmacy by the hire date (Pharmacy Interns are not required to hold CPhT certification)
• Must also have national certification from Pharmacy Tech Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam of Certified Pharmacy Techs (exCPT), or within 6 months from start date
• Pharmacy students who have completed 2 years of education in an approved college/school of pharmacyare eligible for pharmacy internship, and may be waived for the required experience
• 6 months - 1 year of work experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills

• Work requires effective interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with hospital staff, patients, families/visitors, physicians, colleagues, and others.
• Ability to speak the English language, read, interpret and follow complicated verbal and written instruction with precision, accuracy and dependability.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize essential tasks and meet deadlines.
• Math skills required; ability to perform work accurately and pay high attention to details, including being able to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios/proportions).
• Basic computer proficiency inclusive of ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information.
• Must maintain the required level of competency to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

Compensation Range

$21.39- $30.05
