SpecialtyRx, Inc. is seeking a Floor Manager to oversee daily LTC pharmacy floor operations, ensuring accurate dispensing, regulatory compliance, and timely medication services for residents.

You will supervise technicians, coordinate staffing, partner with pharmacists and nursing facilities, monitor workflows and KPIs, and drive process improvements while maintaining high standards of quality and customer service. This role requires leadership, attention to detail, and overtime flexibility.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Pharmacy Technician in Texas.
  • Four-year degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years’ long term care pharmacy experience.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and pharmacy software applications.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Detail oriented and accurate in handling medications.
  • Willingness to work overtime with little or no notice.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily pharmacy floor operations to ensure timely dispensing.
  • Monitor workflow across order entry, filling, packaging, verification, and shipping.
  • Prioritize workload to meet schedules and delivery timelines.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Direct, train, mentor, and support pharmacy technicians and staff.
  • Monitor performance, provide coaching, and recognition as appropriate.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and staff development.
  • Promote teamwork and a positive work environment.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet demands.
  • Conduct routine medication processing audits and document findings.
  • Investigate and address medication errors and discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper handling and documentation of controlled substances.
  • Support regulatory inspections and accreditation surveys.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy, storage, and expiration management.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve operational issues.
  • Monitor KPIs, productivity, and quality indicators; prepare reports.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and HIPAA.
  • Ensure prescription orders align with company policies and regulations.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by managers.

Job description

The Floor Manager is responsible for overseeing daily pharmacy floor operations within a long‑term care (LTC) pharmacy. This role ensures efficient workflow, regulatory compliance, medication order processing, packaging, dispensing, and delivery coordination while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and customer service. The Floor Manager supervises pharmacy technicians and support staff, coordinates staffing and productivity, and works closely with pharmacists, nursing facilities, and other departments to ensure timely medication services for residents.

  • Maintain compliance with all applicable state pharmacy laws, federal regulations, HIPAA requirements, and company policies.
  • Ensure prescription orders are processed in accordance with company policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Complete any other task assigned by the managers.
Education, Knowledge And Skills
  • Licensed Pharmacy Technician in Texas required.
  • Four‑year degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Three to five years’ long term care pharmacy experience.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Driven and motivated problem‑solver.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and pharmacy software applications.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Able to work overtime with little or no notice.
