Job Summary

The Pharmacy Fill Technician accurately prepares prescriptions, including the careful picking, labeling, scanning, and final preparation of prescriptions for the pharmacist’s verification. Additionally, they assist in maintaining a well–organized workspace and ensure compliance with regulations.

SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 6:00pm – 2:30am

Duties / Responsibilities

• Pull/pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas (pre‑pack racks)
• Accuracy check of final preparation before presenting to the pharmacist
• Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently and in a timely and prioritized manner, under the supervision of a pharmacist
• Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose per procedure
• Assist in pre‑packing frequently ordered medications; label and stock as needed during low‑volume times
• Package materials and products manually
• Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA
• Maintain clean/organized workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed each shift
• Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly
• Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code
• Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required and/or expected
• Other duties as assigned; job duties may vary depending on business needs

Education and/or Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Pharmacy technician licenses / certifications required by state regulations and state of practice
• Previous pharmacy experience preferred (one or more years of long‑term care experience preferred)

Physical Demands

• May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day
• The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, walk
• May be necessary to work extended hours as needed
• May lift and/or move up to 30 pounds

Holiday & PTO Policy

• Paid holidays are provided annually, with six days offered each year, along with five sick days

Please note, because we are a pharmacy most of our locations are open 24‑hours a day, seven days a week, and therefore schedules may change as determined by the needs of the business.
