Job summary

Polaris Pharmacy Services is seeking a Pharmacy Fill Technician to accurately prepare prescriptions, including picking, labeling, scanning, and final preparation for pharmacist verification. You will help maintain an organized workspace and ensure regulatory compliance across sites.

Responsibilities include pulling medications, performing accuracy checks, and efficiently filling daily orders under supervision.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Pharmacy technician license/certification required by state regulations.
  • Previous long-term care pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Must read, write, and understand English; attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift light loads and work varied shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Pull/pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas (pre-pack racks).
  • Accuracy check of final preparation before presenting to the pharmacist.
  • Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently and in a timely and prioritized manner, under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose per procedure.
  • Assist in pre-packing frequently ordered medications; label and stock as needed during low-volume times.
  • Package materials and products manually.
  • Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Maintain clean/organized workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed each shift.
  • Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly.
  • Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
  • Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required and/or expected.
  • Other duties as assigned; Job duties may vary depending on business needs.

Job Summary:

QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:

Required Skills/Abilities:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations and state of practice.

  • Previous pharmacy experience preferred (one or more years of long-term care experience preferred)


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day

  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, walk

  • May be necessary to work extended hours as needed

  • May lift and/or move up to 30 pounds

HOLIDAY & PTO POLICY


  • Paid holidays are provided annually, with 6 days offered each year, along with 5 sick days.

  • Employees earn up to 10 PTO days each year, with rollover options and milestone bonuses.

  • Employees have the option to cash out up to 10 PTO hours each quarter for added financial flexibility.


Please note, because we are a pharmacy most of our locations are open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week and therefore schedules may change as determined by the needs of the business.
