Job summary

Polaris Pharmacy Services is hiring a Pharmacy Fill Technician to accurately prepare prescriptions, label meds, and support pharmacists across long-term care and specialty settings.

You will pull medications, perform accuracy checks, and process daily orders while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and company policies. This role requires attention to detail and flexibility for variable shifts and overtime.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations.
  • Previous pharmacy experience preferred, especially long-term care.

Responsibilities

  • Pull medications from shelving and prepare orders for pharmacist verification.
  • Perform accuracy check of final preparation before pharmacist review.
  • Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision.
  • Assist in processing returned drugs and recycling per procedure.
  • Pre-pack and label frequently ordered medications; stock as needed.
  • Follow HIPAA and government regulations; maintain clean workspaces.
  • Alert pharmacist on duty of any scanning issues or shortages.
  • May require extended hours, overtime, or weekend shifts.

Additionally, they assist in maintaining a well-organized workspace and ensure compliance with regulations.Duties/Responsibilities:Pull/pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas (pre-pack racks)Accuracy check of final preparation before presenting to the pharmacistFill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently and in a timely and prioritized manner, under the supervision of a pharmacistAssist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose per procedureAssist in pre-packing frequently ordered medications; label and stock as needed during low-volume timesPackage materials and products manuallyFollow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAAMaintain clean/organized workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed each shiftAlert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properlyComply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress codeOvertime, holidays, and weekends may be required and/or expectedOther duties as assigned; Job duties may vary depending on business needsQUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
