Job Details: Location: Polaris Pharmacy Services of Maryland - Windsor Mill, MD 21244. Position Type: Full Time. Salary Range: $19.00 - $21.00 hourly. Shift: Day.

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Fill Technician accurately prepares prescriptions, including the careful picking, labeling, scanning, and final preparation of prescriptions for the pharmacist's verification. They also assist in maintaining a well‑organized workspace and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Pull/pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas (pre‑pack racks).
• Accuracy check of final preparation before presenting to the pharmacist.
• Fill daily drug orders accurately, efficiently and in a timely prioritized manner under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Assist in processing returned drugs and recycling or disposing per procedure.
• Assist in pre‑packing frequently ordered medications; label and stock as needed during low‑volume times.
• Package materials and products manually.
• Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
• Maintain a clean/organized workstation area and replenish all stock supplies needed each shift.
• Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly.
• Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
• Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required and/or expected.
• Other duties as assigned; job duties may vary depending on business needs.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of brand name/generic medications.

• Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations and state of practice.
  • Previous pharmacy experience preferred (one or more years of long‑term care experience preferred).

Physical Demands

• May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, walk.
• May be necessary to work extended hours as needed.
• May lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
