Job summary

Elderwood in Massachusetts is seeking full time and part time Pharmacy Drivers to safely transport medications and medical supplies. A clean driving record is preferred, and daily responsibilities include timely deliveries and vehicle maintenance.

Adhere to schedules while ensuring safety and compliance across shifts. Applicants must have a valid MA driver’s license, ability to follow directions, and be capable of driving in adverse weather.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts driver’s license with no restrictions.
• Ability to read and follow orders for mail, meds and supplies.
• Capable of driving in snow, rain and ice in day or night conditions.
• Able to operate full-size cargo van, panel truck or automobile.

Responsibilities

• Deliver inter-office mail, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and equipment on schedule.
• Notify customers if deliveries will be late from established times.
• Drive safely to minimize vehicle damage and wear.
• Report mechanical issues with delivery vehicles promptly.
• Ensure delivery vehicles are kept in safe condition (fuel, wash, tires, inspection).
• Remove trash and packaging from dispensing areas as directed.
• Clear pharmacy entrance of snow and ice during scheduled shifts.

Overview

Elderwood is currently seeking both full time and part time Pharmacy Drivers.

Responsible for safely transporting and transferring medications and medical supplies to assigned destinations. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Deliver inter-office mail, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and equipment following an established schedule.
• Notify customers if deliveries will be materially late from established time schedules.
• Drive responsibly and safely in order to minimize damage or excessive wear and tear on the delivery vehicles.
• Convey any mechanical problems identified with the delivery vehicles to the Director of Pharmacy Services as soon as possible.
• Ensure delivery vehicles are in safe operating condition (e.g. fuel, wash, tires, and inspection) including transport of vehicles to appropriate dealership, repair shop, etc.
• Remove trash, empty boxes, and cartons from dispensing area as directed.
• Clear Pharmacy entrance of snow and ice during scheduled work time

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts state drivers license, with no restrictions.
• Able to comprehend orders and directions, so as to successfully assume the necessary responsibility involved in the distribution of mail, medications and medical supplies.
• Able to drive in all weather conditions including snow, rain and ice during night and daylight.
• Able to operate full size cargo van, small panel truck, or automobile.
