Job summary

JobRx, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Director for a permanent, full-time position. The Pharmacy Director is responsible for all aspects of the Pharmacy Department, including supervising staff, managing budgets, and ensuring pharmaceutical care for patients in an acute care setting.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, a Pharm.D., and 3-5 years of experience as a Director of Pharmacy along with a current South Carolina license.

Pharmacy Director – Permanent & Full-Time

Responsible for all aspects of the Pharmacy Department. Supervises the technical/clinical staff, performs administrative duties, prepares and maintains operating and capital budgets for the Pharmacy. Demonstrates expertise in clinical pharmacy practice and serves as a resource in the provision of pharmaceutical care to patients in the acute care setting.

Duties

• Develops, implements, and achieves business goals by effectively planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing all pharmacy service programs.
• Manages drug utilization and medication use processes to ensure patient safety.
• Prepares and manages departmental budget, monitors and controls purchasing and inventory management processes.
• Maintains awareness of developments in pharmacy and healthcare, integrating them into practice.
• Participates in quality improvement and medication use review activities, collects data, conducts inspections, and maintains documentation.
• Supervises and directs pharmacy support personnel, verifying daily activities of pharmacy technicians for accuracy.
• Supports the pharmacy's pharmacoeconomic efforts by reviewing medication use for compliance with current programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Pharm.D. required; completion of Residency preferred
• 3 - 5 years' experience as Director of Pharmacy
• Current licensed pharmacist in South Carolina
• Knowledge of systems used in Pharmacy
