Job summary

Family First Health is seeking a PRN Pharmacy Delivery Driver for our George Street, York location. You will transport prescriptions to patients and provide exceptional customer service, learning medical terminology along the way.

Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, be at least 18 years old, and demonstrate a safe driving record. This role offers growth with a dedicated healthcare team and flexibility to support pharmacy operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and knowledge of safe vehicle operation; safe driving record.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• No prior felony offenses related to controlled substances, or had a DEA application denied, revoked, or surrendered for cause.
• Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation as it relates to correspondence necessary to perform essential job functions
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures necessary to perform essential job functions
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to think clearly and rationally, understand logical connections between ideas and evaluate arguments
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Ability to communicate well and in a caring manner with individuals of all backgrounds
• Ability to be organized and manage multiple tasks
• Adherence to Family First Health policies and remote/telework policy if eligible

Responsibilities

• Transports prescriptions from Family First Pharmacy to patients.
• Delivers prescriptions promptly, efficiently, and accurately.
• Communicates and resolves delivery issues with pharmacy staff and patients.
• Follows procedures for delivery tracking and obtaining delivery receipts.
• Maintains security and integrity of all prescriptions during delivery.
• Performs daily vehicle inspections and reports issues.
• Cross-trains in other duties within Pharmacy dept.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Candidates should be computer proficient and have the ability to learn medical/pharmacy terminology. As a PRN Pharmacy Delivery Driver at Family First Health, you should have a positive and outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills and strong organizational skills. Candidates must also have a valid driver's license to qualify.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Transports prescriptions from Family First Pharmacy to patients.
• Ensures prescriptions are delivered promptly, efficiently, and accurately to intended recipients.
• Communicates and resolves prescription delivery issues with pharmacy personnel and patients.
• Follows all standard operating procedures for delivery tracking, including obtaining delivery receipt acknowledgements from patients and completing internal delivery logs.
• Maintains security and integrity of all prescriptions throughout delivery process.
• Performs daily inspections of delivery vehicle to ensure it is in safe, working condition; report any concerns to Facilities Director.
• Cross-trains in other duties within the Pharmacy department. Ability to fill in based on delivery volume and departmental needs.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Mental/Physical Requirements: Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with a Delivery Driver position such as:

• Requires correct vision and hearing to normal range.
• Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent changes from sitting to standing/walking, operating a vehicle for extended periods of time.
• Occasional stooping, crouching, or kneeling.
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
