Job summary

Alignment Health is seeking a Data Scientist on the Pharmacy team to evolve the analytical engine behind pharmacy data and PartD Star measures for our Medicare Advantage line. You will apply data science to improve analytics, forecasting, and dashboarding to inform strategy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in predictive modeling and data analysis.
• Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field (PhD a plus).
• Excellent communication, analytical and collaborative problem-solving skills.
• Experience in building data science solutions and applying machine learning with measurable outcomes.
• Familiarity with time-series analysis or forecasting methods.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, R, Scala or C++.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with data visualization and presenting analyses clearly.
• Experience with experimental analytics frameworks for complex scenarios.
• Understanding of statistical measures like confidence intervals and hypothesis testing.
• Experience handling high-volume, high-dimensional data from varied sources.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Pharmacy leadership to understand problems and propose analytical solutions.
• Convert models and rules into scalable, production-ready tools.
• Design dashboards and reporting tracking Star measures trajectories.
• Build projection and simulation models for Star Rating outcomes.
• Develop prioritization rules, measure-improvement models, and NBA logic.
• Analyze financial impact to guide investments and interventions.
• Manage projects end-to-end from problem to deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with data and engineering teams to version, test, and deploy models (Git, CI/CD, VM).
• Help standardize definitions, documentation, and reporting workflows across the organization.
• Incorporate new data sources and tools to improve analytics capabilities.
