Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy of Michigan in Grand Rapids is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to enter and process prescriptions, communicate with customers by phone, and ensure accurate documentation in the pharmacy system.

The role requires Michigan licensure, 2+ years of related experience, strong computer skills, and the ability to work independently within a collaborative team. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a schedule that includes occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (per state requirements).
• Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration (per state requirements); National Certification preferred (PTCB).
• 2+ years of related experience (advanced degree may substitute for experience).
• Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines.
• Great attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines.
• Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate.

Responsibilities

• Enter new and refill prescriptions into operating system accurately and timely.
• Triage incoming fax prescriptions to ensure timely dispensing.
• Ensure proper notes in computer and cycle fill coding.
• Calculate and verify correct dosage based on prescription.
• Respond to customer calls with caring, understanding and courtesy.
• Complete prescriptions within regular shift; follow up with doctors’ offices as needed.
• Develop proficiency in all pharmacy systems (document imaging, legacy systems).
• Assist with filing, packaging, inventory, and order processing as needed.
