Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied).
Operations
- Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
- Recommends items for sale and suggests trade-up or complementary products.
- Handles transactions at the cash register, including collecting cash, giving change, processing voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges. Assists customers in locating products in the OTC aisle.
- Keeps counters and shelves clean and well-stocked, takes inventory, and maintains records. Checks in and prices merchandise as directed by management.
- Supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information accurately into pharmacy systems, assisting in prescription filling, verifying medication accuracy, and checking for interactions. Helps schedule and manage workflow.
- Immediately reports prescription errors to the pharmacist and follows company policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
- Adheres to Walgreens policies on Good Faith Dispensing during prescription activities.
- Handles non-urgent phone calls, including those to physicians.
- Processes third-party prescription claims and performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Supports inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques and files claims for discrepancies or damages.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products such as alcohol and tobacco.
- Constructs and maintains displays, completes resets, and assists with product placement and stock rotation.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including passport photos and promotional products, and manages web order pickups.
- Maintains store cleanliness and appearance, complies with policies, and fosters respectful coworker relationships.
- Completes assigned tasks and special projects as needed.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB certification and/or state registration through ongoing training and continuing education.
- Attends training sessions, completes required coursework, and stays updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Additional requirements include fluency in English (excluding Puerto Rico) and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
