Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
- Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
- Recommends items for sale, including trade-up and/or companion items.
- Handles transactions at the cash register, including collecting cash, giving change, processing voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges. Assists customers in locating products in the OTC aisle.
- Keeps counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, manages inventory, and maintains records. Checks in and prices merchandise as directed by management.
- Supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions, verifying medication accuracy, and assisting with workflow scheduling.
- Reports prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and adheres to company policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
- Follows all policies related to Good Faith Dispensing during prescription activities.
- Handles non-urgent telephone inquiries, including calls to physicians.
- Processes manual claims for third-party prescriptions and performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Supports pharmacy inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques and files claims for discrepancies or damages.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products like alcohol and tobacco.
- Creates and maintains displays, completes resets and revisions as directed.
- Assists with product placement and stock rotation, especially for food items, following company policies.
- Maintains knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including passport photos, poster prints, and promotional products.
- Handles web order pick-up responsibilities, including monitoring, fulfilling, and delivering orders.
- Maintains store cleanliness and appearance, and complies with all policies and procedures.
- Performs other tasks and special assignments as needed.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB certification and/or state certification/registration through approved training programs.
- Attends training sessions, completes required learning programs, and acquires continuing education credits to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy practices.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
