Job summary

South Dakota Department of Health - Board of Pharmacy is seeking an Inspector to oversee inspections of pharmacies and wholesalers across South Dakota. Travel statewide is required; duties include investigating complaints and assisting with licensing and regulatory updates.

Strong communication and regulatory knowledge are essential. The successful candidate will present regulations to professionals, educate on PDMP data usage, and travel with some overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist in good standing by the SD Board of Pharmacy.
• Ability to travel across state with overnight stays.
• Experience with inspections and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct inspections with Board staff and maintain records.
• Ensure inspections are efficient and compliant using Board resources.
• Investigate complaints received by the Board.
• Assist in license approvals and respond to questions from licensees; update rules as needed.
• Present regulations to pharmacists and technicians.
• Educate PDMP staff on proper use of program data to improve patient care.
