Pharmacy Clinical Consulting Senior Advisor – East Region - Remote (Cigna Pharmacy Management)

Position Overview

The Pharmacy Sales Senior Advisor is a licensed clinician supporting Cigna Pharmacy clients within an assigned geographical market(s) and client size band. This role involves developing relationships with internal stakeholders, including medical sales teams and pharmacy underwriting, as well as external brokers and consultants. The primary goal is supporting client retention and growth, aligning with Cigna's strategic objectives. The position requires working with complex accounts, often with unique requirements, and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Retain the assigned book of business through proactive portfolio management.
  2. Participate in client meetings and presentations to review performance and promote pharmacy management programs.
  3. Act as the pharmacy sales leader for complex renewals, especially against competitors like group purchasing organizations.
  4. Build and maintain meaningful relationships with stakeholders, demonstrating honesty and integrity.
  5. Educate the medical sales organization on pharmacy products, services, and clinical integration points.
  6. Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, anticipating communication needs.
  7. Participate in finalist meetings for business renewals.
  8. Gather competitive intelligence to support retention and sales efforts.
  9. Support escalated pharmacy benefit issues and act as a clinical SME.
  10. Analyze complex information to solve problems effectively.
  11. Stay updated on clinical pharmacy practices, including new drugs and therapies.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Partner with client and market managers on opportunities, RFP responses, and presentations.
  2. Join medical-only client meetings as a pharmacy SME when appropriate.
  3. Facilitate meetings to resolve service concerns and act as an escalation point.
  4. Support pharmacy claims analysis and provide proactive consultation.
  5. Assist with pricing, audits, and contracts as needed.
  6. Translate pharmacy coverage rules and formulary decisions.
  7. Perform other tasks as required to support stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Pharmacy degree (bachelor’s or doctorate).
  • 5+ years of PBM experience supporting clients.
  • Experience in consultative client management.
  • Ability to manage renewals independently.
  • Understanding of PBM operational models.
  • Experience in finance, underwriting, or broker relations preferred.
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, with short notice, depending on location.
  • Reliable high-speed internet if working remotely.
Compensation and Benefits

Annual salary range: $119,300 - $198,900, depending on experience and location. Eligible for annual bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, behavioral health, 401(k), life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and holidays.
