Job summary

AdventHealth Transplant Institute in Orlando, FL is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team. You will handle prior authorizations, coordinate medication delivery, and support patients in obtaining their medications efficiently.

This full-time day-shift role requires 5+ years of retail pharmacy experience, a CPhT or RPhT credential, and proficiency with pharmacy software and Medicare billing guidelines.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with prescription-filling software and other computer skills.
• Processing third party claims and secondary billing.
• Knowledge of Part B and Part D Medicare billing.
• Knowledgeable in major prescription insurance carrier reimbursement guidelines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Initiates prior authorization requests by submitting necessary documentation to insurance providers for medications that require approval before dispensing.
• Coordinates prescription delivery to arrange timely delivery of medications to patients.
• Follows up on prescriptions by monitoring their status, addressing any issues, and ensuring patients receive their medications without delay.
• Identifies changes in drug movement patterns to adjust inventory and ordering processes accordingly.
• Assists patients with grant applications to help them obtain financial assistance for their medications.
