Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support medication preparation, distribution, and patient information collection. This full-time, day-shift position is based at 2415 N Orange Ave, Orlando, FL 32804 and offers growth within a faith-based health system.

The role requires one year of pharmacy technician experience or completion of a technician internship, HS diploma, and RPhT. PTCB/NHA certifications are preferred; familiarity with prescription software is a plus.

Qualifications

One year of pharmacy technician experience OR completion of a technician internship at AdventHealth in retail or hospital setting.
High School Grad or Equiv required.
Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) required.
PTCB/CPhT or NHA certification preferred.
Proficient with prescription-filling software and general computer skills.

Responsibilities

Prepares and distributes medications in a timely manner.
Collects patient information and explains insurance changes or complications.
Ensures orders are processed, dispensed and delivered accurately and promptly.
Assists in billing processes and maintains knowledge of insurance changes.
Demonstrates knowledge of medication names, uses, and basic math for calculations.
Communicates with patients and pharmacies regarding transfers and issues.
Maintains inventory and participates in training of new staff.
