Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Clerk in a fast-paced pharmacy environment. You will support day-to-day operations, greet customers, process transactions, stock supplies, and assist with prescription preparation and delivery orders.

The role emphasizes detail-oriented tasks, confidentiality of patient information, and teamwork to maintain an inviting, well-organized pharmacy space. Vaccination duties may be performed where legally permitted.

Qualifications

• Follow written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions with attention to detail.
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers accurately.
• File, post, and organize materials; copy data accurately between records; and gather basic information through customer interactions.
• Guide customers and provide clear, helpful direction in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Maintain a high level of discretion and integrity when handling confidential patient information.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile, learning their names, and making every interaction a positive one.
• Answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service to customers who call, including taking refill orders.
• Gather patient information required to prepare prescriptions.
• Stock received product and supplies and keep pharmacy supplies well stocked.
• Review prescriptions not picked up as required by the department manager.
• Log invoices and complete cash transactions accurately.
• Prepare paperwork and compile medicine for delivery orders and mail-outs.
• Coordinate nursing home medicines as necessary.
• Administer vaccines as allowed by law, with required certification where applicable.
