Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System’s Outpatient Pharmacy - Call Center Representative supports the Retail Pharmacy Communication Hub by delivering courteous patient-focused service in a fast-paced environment at Southlake Campus.

You will handle patient questions, refill requests, and status updates while maintaining HIPAA compliance and coordinating with pharmacists, technicians and health care providers to ensure timely medication information and accurate billing.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• 2+ years in customer service call center or high-volume retail pharmacy.
• Experience using call center software to answer, transfer, page and email.
• Exceptional communication and phone skills; multitask across software systems.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls, provide courteous customer service and document interactions.
• Schedule prescription refills and communicate status to patients.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and accurate demographic/billing data.
• Escalate issues to pharmacists, technicians or supervisors as needed.
• Support performance improvement and quality management initiatives.
