Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Orlando, FL is seeking a Pharmacy Buyer (Full-Time) to coordinate medication procurement, maintain inventory stock levels, and manage purchasing documentation in a hospital pharmacy setting. The role may support Pharmacy Technician duties as needed.

Responsibilities include inventory control, real-time shortage communication, and ensuring proper storage, dating, and expiration controls to support safe pharmacy operations.

Qualifications

• State of Florida Pharmacy Technician Licensure required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician required within 6 months of hire.
• Hospital Pharmacy experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains appropriate inventory levels of drugs/supplies and manages purchasing within budget.
• Communicates real-time shortages of medications and changes in stock availability.
• Oversees receiving, storage, and return of medications to the Pharmacy wholesaler.
• Maintains invoicing for all drug and supply accounts.
• Familiar with Lawson computer systems and pharmacy distribution processes.
• Coordinates disposal of expired medications and supports recalls documentation.
• Prepares for annual inventory updates and related shelf labeling and forms.
• Role may function as Pharmacy technician including unit dose and Pyxis operations, aseptic compounding, and drug distribution tasks.
