Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy of Utah is seeking a Billing Specialist to process customer bills and insurance claims with accuracy and efficiency. The role requires updating patient and insurance information in the billing system and providing prompt customer support to patients, caregivers, providers, and carriers.

The position emphasizes attention to detail, independence, and adherence to HIPAA while contributing to ongoing billing improvements and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration per state requirements; National Certification preferred (PTCB) may be required.
• 1+ years of related billing experience
• Advanced computer skills; pharmacy information system experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines.
• Great attention to detail and accuracy

Responsibilities

• Process customer bills and insurance claims in an accurate and timely manner.
• Enter and update patient/insurance information into billing system.
• Maintain and audit patient files and documentation for third-party audits and compliance.
• Provide assistance and timely response to billing inquiries via phone or electronic communications.
• Research and resolve patient billing issues regarding eligibility, coverage and benefits.
• Support daily census, administrative tasks, and reporting related to billing.
• Follow HIPAA and regulatory requirements; work as a collaborative team member.
