Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of retail/hospital pharmacy experience is required.
• One year of computer experience is required.
• Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician by the Virginia Department of Health Professions required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required.
• Familiarity with commonly prescribed medications, brand/generic names, use, doses, frequencies, and dosage forms is required
• Must have excellent computer and operational skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under pressure with other healthcare professionals
• The Pharmacy technician will learn comprehensive operational details for all Omnicell equipment and new system to be implemented that would require knowledge and understanding of the operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacy Leadership with managing equipment and systems used by the pharmacy department to manage and distribute medications.
• Receive daily pharmacy deliveries and support the inpatient pharmacy team during staffing shortages.
