Job summary

First Choice Community Healthcare seeks a Pharmacy Administrative Assistant I to support Health Center Operations under supervision of the Health Center Manager and Pharmacist. You will enroll patients in patient assistance programs and maintain MAP records, while logging and dispensing sample products.

You will ensure correct co-pays, manage MAP logs, track inventory, assist in dispensing in-house medications, and educate patients on prescription labels.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED certificate.
• One year of work within a health care setting is preferred.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determines patient eligibility for and enrolls patients in patient assistance programs and maintains a record of such eligibility within the MAP file.
• Maintains tickler file for all patients ensuring continuity of care.
• Receives, logs and processes all MAP medications and maintains logbooks and file systems for MAP program monitoring.
• Ensures patients are charged appropriate co-pay and logs samples for dispensing by providers.
• Maintains and tracks inventory control for all items within the drug room; completes bi-monthly inventory.
• Assists providers in dispensing in-house medications and educates patients on reading prescription labels.
