Job summary

Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine seeks a Pharmacology Medical Educator to teach medical students and advance a therapeutics curriculum. The role emphasizes delivering an integrated pharmacology knowledge base for bedside application across patient populations.

The position collaborates with Medical Education Research, uses scholarly teaching methods, and reports to the Family Medicine and Medical Education chairs.

Qualifications

• PharmD or PhD in Pharmacology with at least 1 year of teaching experience with medical, nursing, graduate, or pharmacy school students.
• 2 years of clinical practice or postdoctoral experience.
• Interest in learning or experience with innovative teaching/learning strategies.
• Comfort in teaching the science and application of therapeutics, collaborating closely with physiology faculty and clinicians.
• Must exhibit an evidence-based approach to the use of therapeutics.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement pharmacotherapeutic education and provide supervision to Family Medicine residents and students.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary groups to create and deliver engaged learning activities for medical students in lecture-free curriculum.
• May be a module co-director in Doctoring and may support some content in Foundations.
• Consistently offer a 2-week pharmacotherapy elective for third year medical students
• Contribute to the literature on medical education and engage in service activities as appropriate.
