Merck & Co., Inc. in West Point, PA invites students to join the 2027 Future Talent Program as a Pharmacokinetic, Dynamics, Metabolism and Bioanalytics Intern. The position runs up to 12 weeks to support ADME-related projects in a collaborative R&D setting.

Interns will perform cell-based induction assays, assess CYP expression, and explore automation, while learning to record results and communicate findings clearly. Strong academics and teamwork are essential, with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be enrolled as an undergraduate junior/senior or graduate student in Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or related field.
• Must be enrolled full-time in the Fall Semester after internship.
• Must have completed at least 3 years of studies toward bachelor’s degree by June 2027.
• basic lab skills and research experience in in vitro systems and cell culture, aseptic technique, pipetting, dilution.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to document experiments clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute cell-based induction assays for major drug metabolizing enzymes.
• Evaluate quantification of mRNA to assess CYP gene expression upregulation.
• Explore automation capabilities to streamline Cytochrome P450 workflows.
• Hands-on in vitro lab work with cells, enzymes, suspensions, or tissues.
• Maintain careful records and ensure training completion and lab safety.
