Job summary

Rangely District Hospital in Rangely, CO is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge to lead the hospital's pharmacy operations from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

The PIC will ensure safe dispensing, regulatory compliance, and staff coordination in a rural hospital setting, while providing clinical support, immunizations, reimbursements, and medication safety. Strong communication and accountability are essential.

Qualifications

• PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy or equivalent
• Active Colorado Pharmacist license in good standing
• CPR certification
• Immunization certification

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, inspections and recordkeeping requirements
• Fill and verify prescriptions and submit third-party claims
• Consult with physicians, nurses, patients, and staff on medication questions, formulary options, and cost-effective therapies
• Monitor storage, distribution and use of medications and supplies, and track inventory levels and expiration dates
• Document and report medication errors and support quality and safety efforts
• Maintain accurate transaction and drug accountability records, and complete third-party and financial reporting
• Administer immunizations and maintain required records and protocols
• Support credentialing activities related to pharmacy operations and payer participation

Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)- Retail Pharmacy | Rangely, CO

Rangely District Hospital is looking for a Pharmacist in Charge. Monday - Friday from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Seeking a pharmacist who wants meaningful work, a great team, strong support, and real impact. This leadership role requires someone who knows retail pharmacy operations, values accountability, communicates well, and wants to provide pharmacy services in a rural hospital setting.

As Pharmacist in Charge, you are responsible for the safe, compliant, and effective operation of the pharmacy under Colorado and federal regulations, covering prescription dispensing, regulatory oversight, staff coordination, clinical support, inventory management, immunization services, reimbursement, and medication safety.

Seeking someone clinically capable, operationally strong and grounded in the people skills that help a team work well together.

Required

• PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy, or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience
• Active Colorado Pharmacist license in good standing
• CPR certification
• Immunization certification

Preferred

• Retail pharmacy practice, operations, reimbursement and inventory control experience
• Familiarity with rural health care, or a real interest in rural practice

Physical requirements

• Prolonged standing and sitting, some bending and stretching, computer and office equipment use, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. The work can be fast-paced.
