Shriners Children's St. Louis seeks a dedicated PRN Pharmacist to join our hospital team.

You will check, prepare, and dispense medications, verify orders, and ensure safe storage and control of medicines in a busy pediatric setting. Responsibilities include reviewing prescriptions, advising clinicians on dosing, monitoring drug effects, and supporting pharmacy operations with training and supervision of staff.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor in Pharmacy and active state pharmacy license.
• PharmD is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years hospital pharmacy experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conducts and oversees the preparation and dispensing of medications, guided by professional standards of practice.
• Receives prescriptions and medication orders from providers.
• Checks medication orders for proper dosing, contraindications, interactions.
• Prepares, fills, and dispenses medications based upon physician orders.
• Assesses the appropriateness of medications prescribed, monitors medication effects on the patient and provides drug information to hospital and medical staff.
• Assists the Pharmacy Manager in planning, developing, coordinating and controlling pharmacy department functions and in training, supervising and evaluating pharmacy support personnel.
• Orders CII controlled substances and maintain control of all controlled substances.
