Job summary

Legacy Community Health in Houston is seeking a Pharmacist Training & Development Specialist to nurture our pharmacy team and elevate training programs for all service levels.

You will onboard staff including pharmacists and technicians, identify gaps, design training, and mentor new employees while staying current with pharmacy regulations and URAC standards. This role emphasizes collaboration and a mission-driven culture within a community health system.

Qualifications

  • Experience in training and development in a pharmacy setting.
  • Strong mentoring and staff development skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards in pharmacy.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard pharmacists, technicians and staff following SOPs.
  • Identify knowledge gaps and direct training programs.
  • Maintain employee documentation and performance records.
  • Stay updated on pharmacy practice, 340b, URAC regulations.
  • Design, develop, and execute training programs for all service levels.
  • Provide mentorship and conduct performance audits.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with learning and development teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Pharmacist - Training and Development (Job Overview)

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8AM-5PM)

Key Responsibilities
  • Onboard pharmacy staff including pharmacists, technicians, and supportive staff following SOPs.
  • Identify knowledge and performance gaps and direct training and quality assurance programs.
  • Maintain employee documentation, competencies, and performance as per regulatory standards.
  • Stay updated on pharmacy practice, 340b, and URAC regulations.
  • Monitor and update policies and procedures to reflect regulatory changes.Design, develop, and execute training programs for all pharmacy service levels.
  • Provide mentorship to new employees and perform performance audits.
  • Assist in disciplinary actions regarding employee performance.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects.
  • Serve as a liaison to student and residency programs with affiliated pharmacy schools.
  • Collaborate with the organization's learning and development department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited college/university of pharmacy (Pharm.D or B.S. with equivalent experience)
  • Valid license from the Board of Pharmacy of the State of Texas
  • Must maintain First Aid /CPR
  • 5+ years of pharmacist experience
  • Completion of ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency certification (desirable)
  • Experience in training and development
  • Computer experience Windows, Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize
