Job summary

Cosentino's Price Chopper in Lee's Summit, MO is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a full-time, on-site role with benefits. The position supports daily pharmacy operations and patient care under the Pharmacist in Charge, ensuring accuracy and safety in dispensing medications.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Pharmacy or PharmD, a valid license, and experience with retail pharmacy software. This exempt role reports to the Pharmacist in Charge and leads a pharmacy team to deliver quality service.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or PharmD required.
• Valid driver’s license required for deliveries.
• Completion of ongoing training and development per Cosentino Learning Plan.
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Retail Pharmacy Software Systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise department operations in the Pharmacist in Charge's absence, ensuring efficiency and respect.
• Compound and dispense prescribed medications and reviews prescriptions for accuracy.
• Prepare medications using standard formulas and processes.
• Direct pharmacy staff in mixing, packaging, and labeling.
• Answer questions and provide information on drug interactions, side effects, and storage.
• Maintain quality assurance, controlled substances security, and hazardous waste disposal procedures.
• Enter patient data and medication details into files, charge system, and inventory.
• Assay medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.
• Instruct interns and medical staff on pharmacy matters.
• Meet productivity standards set by leadership.
• Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and elevate as needed.
• Follow Cosentino Customer Service Standards.
• Operate necessary equipment safely.
• Maintain and improve productivity and team outcomes.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate basic math and reading skills.
• Demonstrate essential written communication skills.
