Job summary

Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is seeking a part-time staff pharmacist for rotating shifts at Loyola University Medical Center and Gottlieb Memorial Hospital.

The role involves pharmaceutical care, medication order processing, supervision of pharmacy technicians, and ensuring compliance with laws and proper documentation. Competitive benefits are provided and pay is hourly.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm)
• Residency: Pharmacy Practice - General (Preferred)
• 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
• ACLS (Advanced Cardio Life Support) certification - preferred

Responsibilities

• Clinical staff pharmacists provide pharmaceutical care services to all patients of the hospital, including oversight, monitoring, preparation, dispensing and documentation of medication therapy
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State and local laws and regulations, and proper storage and documentation of pharmaceuticals
• Process medication orders for age- and disease-appropriate therapy, supervise technicians, provide medication information to the health care team, and coordinate pharmacy services with customers

Loyola Medicine Transport is based at Loyola University Medical Center and is part of a three-hospital system includingLoyola University Medical Center,Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, andMacNeal Hospital.

What you’ll do:

• Clinical staff pharmacists provide pharmaceutical care services to all patients of the hospital including, but not limited to, oversight, monitoring, preparation, dispensing and proper documentation of patient medication therapy as well as providing drug information and oversight over information and dispensing systems.
• Pharmacists will work with the pharmacy team to ensure compliance with Federal, State and local laws and regulations, as well as proper storage and documentation of pharmaceuticals.
• This position processes medication orders for age-appropriate and disease-appropriate medication therapy, supervises the work of pharmacy technicians to ensure the delivery of high quality pharmaceutical services, provide medication information to other health care team members to assist them in their patient care activities, and acts as an interface between pharmacy and its customers to coordinate the delivery of Pharmacy services.

Compensation:

Pay Rate: $69.40 per hour. Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
