Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking a Manager, Pharmacist to lead the Clinical Pharmacy Programs team. The role focuses on developing, implementing, coordinating, and assessing pharmacy programs that improve member health while optimizing costs.

You will partner with internal and external stakeholders to advance population health outcomes. The position requires a California-licensed pharmacist, PharmD, and several years in managed care, with at least two years of people leadership.

Qualifications

• Active California RPh license required.
• PharmD from accredited US school.
• 7+ years in managed care setting.
• 2+ years people management experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong project/program management and analytics.
• Thorough clinical pharmacotherapy knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations and employee development within the program area.
• Develop and assess pharmacy programs to improve quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Analyze prescription drug and medical claims data to identify improvements.
• Develop proposals for opportunities and support implementation.
• Monitor data and report program outcomes to stakeholders.
• Serve as pharmacy SME and manage external relationships.
• Perform other duties as needed.
