University Medical Center of El Paso is seeking a Pharmacist to join its inpatient pharmacy team. You will prepare and dispense medications, assess physician orders for appropriateness, and provide accurate drug information to health care professionals in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy, Texas licensure (or ability to obtain license within 6 months), and ongoing ACPE continuing education.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy required.
• 12 hours of ACPE-approved continuing education per year.

Job Description:

Prepares and dispenses medications to patients. Assesses the appropriateness of the physician''s medication orders. Provides accurate and appropriate drug information to health care professionals. Coordinates or performs functions detailed in the compounding and dispensing procedures. Provides care to patients of varying ages with age related needs.

Required Skills:

• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Knowledgeable of all phases of inpatient pharmacy operations.

Required Experience:

• A. Work Experience: No previous work experience required.
• B. License/Registration/Certification: Current Pharmacy license in Texas, or ability to be licensed within 6 months if recent Pharmacy graduate.
• C. Education and Training: Graduation from accredited School of Pharmacy, 12 hours of ACPE approved continuing education per year.
