Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking a licensed pharmacist to support medication distribution, compounding and clinical activities across the hospital. You will review, compound, dispense and monitor therapies for patients of all ages, including infants to geriatrics.

The role requires an ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree and Georgia licensure (PHARMD). Hospital experience is preferred, with supervision of technicians and ongoing professional development expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy.
• No experience required; hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist; Georgia license upon hire required.

Responsibilities

• Distributes, documents and compounds drugs, solutions and equipment to meet patient and staff needs.
• Reviews, compounds, dispenses and monitors medication therapy for varied age groups.
• Supervises pharmacy technicians and monitors orders filled by staff.
• Maintains competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice.
• Provides patient-focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital.

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
