Job summary

Saint Thomas Hospital for Specialty Surgery is seeking a Pharmacist PRN to join our clinical team. You will dispense medications, review drug interactions, supervise pharmacy staff in coverage periods, and support quality initiatives.

Requirements include Tennessee pharmacy license and BLS/CPR; hospital experience preferred. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and competitive compensation in a family-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice pharmacy in the State of Tennessee.
• BLS/CPR required.
• One-year experience preferred.
• Demonstrate competent knowledge of the development needs of adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws.
• Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of materials and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Compounds and dispenses medications following physicians' orders.
• Determines and consults on possible drug interactions.
• Assists in the supervision and training of pharmacy personnel.
• Participates in Drug Utilization Review.
• Assists with quality improvement initiatives, inventory and ordering.
• Monitors, records and communicates as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
• Fulfills responsibilities of Pharmacy Manager in their absence.
