- Knowledge of compounding and pharmacology.
Responsibilities
- Prepare medications for final dispensing to patients.
- Review orders and cycle-fill medications.
- Verify legality and feasibility of dispensing drugs.
- Interpret prescription orders with professional judgment.
- Adhere to Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Follow compounding guidelines and transfer prescriptions as needed.
- Answer questions from patients, doctors and nurses.
- Evaluate inventory levels and place orders when below par.
- Find cost-effective products for exceptions and notify when out of stock.
- Restock supplies and oversee technicians; log medication errors.
