Grady Health System is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to support the Grady South Emergency Department as a PRN clinician. You will monitor therapy, review orders for safety, and collaborate with nurses and physicians to optimize drug therapy and patient outcomes.

The Pool Pharmacist ensures medication orders are safe and appropriate; that drugs are stored, prepared, and delivered to patient care areas according to generally accepted professional standards; and collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other staff to ensure safe and effective administration and monitoring of medications. Also ensures compliance with relevant state and federal laws and regulations, The Joint Commission medication management standards, and Grady Health System (GHS) policies and procedures. The Grady South Emergency Medicine PRN Pharmacist is a licensed pharmacist who is responsible for applying knowledge, skill, competence and clinical expertise in our new emergency care center . The clinical pharmacist will work in the Grady South Emergency Department as a patient care provider for monitoring of therapy such as renal function adjustment, antibiotic surveillance, anticoagulation and drug interaction monitoring . The roles of this clinical pharmacist are that of advanced practitioner, educator, consultant, and leader.
The PRN Pharmacist applies his/her knowledge of, and clinical training in, pharmacotherapy to directly influence and impact physician prescribing to improve the use of medications in the department and to enhance positive drug therapy outcomes. The Emergency Medicine PRN Pharmacist, acting as an integral member of the healthcare team, assumes responsibility for the appropriate selection and monitoring patient’s therapy through direct patient care activities as well as serving as a liaison between the pharmacy and other healthcare practitioners. This position will be PRN for day, evening and midnight shifts for 10 hour shifts including weekends at the Grady South Emergency Department .
Doctorate of Pharmacy degree plus 1 year post-Phar m .D. experience required
ASHP- accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency or Doctor of Pharmacy degree at least 5 years of post-Phar m .D. experience in job-related pharmacy practice, or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy at least 6 years' experience in job-related pharmacy practice at GHS preferred
PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Residency preferred
Fully licensed as a Pharmacist in the State of Georgia or, eligible for full licensure within 90 days through reciprocity or exam
