Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in San Diego, CA currently seeks a Pharmacist on a per diem basis to support inpatient post-ICU services. The role covers drug distribution, IV admixture, and clinical pharmacy duties in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The successful candidate will hold state licensure, be able to work per diem hours, and participate in patient counseling and discharge planning while contributing to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Have working knowledge of pharmaceutical services including drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Provide clinical support of the hospital pharmacy function in a fast paced environment.
• Maintain adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
• Inform and instruct patients on drugs after discharge.
• Develop and participate in new employee training and education programs.
• Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promote an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure.
• Current State licensure required.

• Pharm D or BS Pharm plus advanced degree or completion of hospital pharmacy residency.
